I don't feel the title quite matches the image. The footprints are coming towards us and I get the impression that the person who left the footprints has arrived. I'm guessing that you took the shot with the camera tilted at an angle and this I like. Good shadows give the footprints a 3D feel.
My interpretation of the title would be an out of focus figure in the distance on the horizon with the footprints leading to them. Simple foreground like a beach, or maybe better would be a desert with a simple background (mountains and sky), or walking along one of those long straight roads you get running through the American deserts. Focused on the footprints about 1/3 into the shot.

Thanks 4 the feedback. I agree the title isn't a perfect fit to those looking from the outside.
I was taking a long walk back to my hotel when the idea to shoot my own footprints came to me. That is where it comes from.

Man, I like the shot alot and I think it is one of the best story telling shots ever...
