This was taken during the Ashura ceremony in Bahrain when Shia Muslims mourn Iman Hussien who was slain at the Battle of Karbala during the First Islamic Civil War that ensured from the power struggle that broke out shortly after the death of the Prophet Mohammed.
The highlight are marches by processions of men performing the "Azza" which involves energetic thumping of one's chest. Standing right there up close and personal with a 50mm lens meant that one could feel the rhythmic sounds echoing through ones body.
I tried to capture the movement in the hands after noticing the shots I was getting were a bit too static.
